Who the Heck is Rick Keene and Why is he on my Computer ?

Jean Beliveau and Rick Keene

I am a fan of the Montreal Canadiens and hockey.
I am a freelance writer and graphic designer ( Kidding about being a Habs’ fan ).

I was put on this earth in Lasalle , Qc. on September 7 1965 – twenty full years to the day after the Habs and hockey legend Jacques Lemaire was born. The former centerman and coach was also born in Lasalle. I would like to believe we drank from the same water and share our analytical skills for the game as well as our birthplace. Gosh darn it – if Guy Lafleur was my right winger,I would also be in the hockey hall of fame and have my name engraved on the Stanley Cup a few times .

Along with most kids growing up in the late sixties and seventies – I grew accustomed to the usual parade route along the streets of Montreal. It is hard to believe that it has been eighteen years since the Habs have won the Cup and I blame this fact on the curse of Serge Savard. The former G. M was a brilliant man who not only guided the Canadiens to two Stanley Cups – the hall of fame defenceman also made the Habs competitive each year he was at the helm of the storied franchise.

I coached, refereed and played hockey at the AA level for many years.

I sincerely hope my writings give pleasure to whoever may read them and remember – hockey is supposed to be fun !

I am currently seeking employment as a hockey writer. If you are reading this and require my talents – please contact me .

Like your site, your humor and your comments. It’s also very refreshing to know I’m reading interesting light hearted comments from a (knowledgeable young man). With all the older sports writers approaching retirement or worse ( have to feet in the grave ) I for one think your wish may come true. Please continue and don’t ever give up!!!! it’s the secret to success

    • Thank you so much Phil. If you want to help – share my site with as many as possible. If people do this, I have ammo as an audience. I hope you keep reading and I hope I can keep you smiling !
