Monday Morning Q – Tip

Since Montrealers do not have a hockey team – it remains important to keep an ear to the ice around the league …

Several incidents have taken place in and outside of the hockey rink in the past few days. Incidents such as ;

– Tie Domi went on a rant on how much it hurts him the Leafs , will be missing the playoffs once again. “Nothing eats at me more inside than these guys not doing well,” Domi told the Toronto Star after attending the Leafs’ 3-0 loss to Carolina at the Air Canada Center. “When I sat down, it was a weird feeling. There was no atmosphere in the place.” Hmmmm … Sounds like Domi’s wife … ?

What ? No Cup again ... ?

– Flyers’ net minder Ilya Bryzgalov hurt his foot and is out indefinitely after playing in 19 of his team’s last 20 games. Bryzgalov had returned to form during this stretch and has Philly fans wondering about the team’s upcoming playoff success. One Flyers’fan summed it up best by saying … ” It will be okay – the Flyers have not had a goalie for years ….”

Pierre McGuire’s name is being tossed about as a possible replacement for Pierre Gauthier in Montreal. During the Flyers – Penguin match on Sunday , there was McGuire in his current job as a hockey analyst. Pierre was stationed between the two benches as Flyers’ coach Peter Laviolette and Pens’ coach Dan Bylsma almost came to blows. McGuire was smack dab in the middle of the pair as they shouted at one another. This experience , say insiders , is exactly what McGuire needs if he will be Patrick Roy’s boss and Mario Tremblay continues to work for RDS …

Garth Snow will return as the Islanders G.M next season even though the team has not made the playoffs since 2006. Owner Charles Wang is convinced that Snow will lead the Isles to the promised land around the same time goaltender Rick Dipietro plays his next game. Long Island officials are preparing the Championship banners for the start of the 2022 season.
